Add your AppBuilda Code to your iPhone
The AppBuilda app that you download is a preview App. Think of it like a dress rehearsal. It allows you to see what your App is going to be like before you submit it to the rest of the world.
The AppBuilda website is your way of publishing your content to your App. It's your way of managing what is in your App.
The App code connects your phone to the AppBuilda website so that they can communicate with each other. So, if you want to see your content in your AppBuilda App you need to give it your App code first.
Step 1: Download and install the AppBuilda App[ezcol_2third]
The first thing to do is to make sure you've got the AppBuilda App on your phone.
If you haven't already done this, now is the time. If you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod, go to the App store and search for AppBuilda. Click the AppBuilda icon to download and install.
When you've installed AppBuilda then please open it to continue. You can either do this from the download section if you're still there, or by going back to your home screen, scrolling till you see the AppBuilda icon and clicking to open it up.[/ezcol_2third] [ezcol_1third_end]
Step 1: Open AppBuilda on your phone[ezcol_2third]
If you haven't already done so, click the AppBuilda icon to open your AppBuilda preview App.
This will take you into the AppBuilda default app. This has the App code 'appbuilda' and is the preview that comes as standard when it is first installed. What we need to do is change this so that it is showing your App code.[/ezcol_2third] [ezcol_1third_end]
Step 3: Allow location settings[ezcol_2third]
AppBuilda can show you information based on where you are. If you want to enable this you need to accept that AppBuilda can use your location information (only when it is switched on and available) to show you location-based information.
This can be used in a number of ways, you can add location information to your App and it will organise that information based on what is closest to you. If for example, you were building a restaurant finder it would show you the restaurants closest to you.
If you haven't got your location settings turned on you will need to go into settings and make sure that when it is on, that AppBuilda is also switched to the 'on' position.[/ezcol_2third] [ezcol_1third_end]
Step 4: Location settings example[ezcol_2third]
You can always get back to this from your settings > privacy > location services menu.[/ezcol_2third] [ezcol_1third_end]
Step 5: What is my App code?[ezcol_2third]
Your App code is the code you chose when you created your App.
This can also be found in your AppBuilda.com account at the top of your App menu, or on your My Account page.
This is the code that you will need to enter into your mobile device.[/ezcol_2third] [ezcol_1third_end]
Step 6: Add your App code into the 'More' tab[ezcol_2third]
The last tab menu at the bottom of the AppBuilda App is 'More'. This is where your settings go and also where you can refresh your App content.
- Click the ‘More’ tab in the bottom right of your screen.
Step 7: Click AppBuilda settings and enter your App code[ezcol_2third]
In the list, click AppBuilda settings.
- Click into the white box and add your App code in lowercase. Make sure predictive text doesn't change it!
- Click 'return’
- Wait to see if the phone updates – this may take less than a second or a minute depending on your connection.
- To Refresh your App, you can always hit the 'Refresh' link at any time.
- Click ‘Highlights’.
This should then enable you to see your content, which may or may not include the AppBuilda test content - depending on whether you have it switched on or not.
If you cannot see anything or you get an error message, try repeating the steps above, making sure you have entered in your code in lowercase correctly.
If you continue to have problems, please contact AppBuilda support.[/ezcol_2third] [ezcol_1third_end]
